CoinGate, one of the largest crypto payment platforms has added support for Ripple, meaning users can now spend the currency at over 4,500 online shops.
The 2nd largest currency by market capitalization has come under scrutiny for the lack of basic user adoption despite several partnerships in recent times. CoinGate’s addition of Ripple (XRP) to its payment processor is expected to boost adoption of the cryptocurrency. CoinGate noted that:

These over 4,500 online merchants include stores that sell cryptocurrency goods and provide services, VPN and hosting sites and more.
Ripple joins Ethereum and Bitcoin on the CoinGate platform where merchants enjoy instant settlement. What’s more, users on the platform can now purchase Ripple using their mobile balance, bank transfer, Skrill, Neteller, or credit cards.
CoinGate also expressed their expectation of Ripple becoming “a huge player in the payments industry.”
